Green tea is packed full of bioactive plant compounds which deliver a vast array of body-loving nutrients in just one cup. It also contains powerful antioxidants and has been associated with fat loss. In addition to this, it may improve brain function and may help prevent cardiovascular disease. It leaves you feeling fresh for the whole day & full of energy, great if intermittent fasting.

There has been a long history of using green tea as medicine throughout history due to its healing properties. However, it is only recently that the benefits of green tea have been studied extensively. A recent review found that it may help reduce inflammation in Crohn's and improve the disease. As you can see the power of green tea is quite extraordinary.

Long-term inflammation can lead to a number of symptoms and affect your body in many ways.

Common symptoms of chronic inflammation can include:

1 - body pain

2 - constant fatigue

3 - insomnia

4 - depression

5 - anxiety

The polyphenols in green tea may also help decrease inflammatory factors associated with chronic inflammatory disorders like rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease. Through numerous experiments, green tea and its major component, epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) have been demonstrated to have anti-inflammatory effects.

Green tea is often described as earthier & more vegetal in flavour than regular black tea.

Some people say green tea is more bitter than black tea, but if brewed correctly it should taste slightly sweet.

Brew it at 80ºC for 2-4 minutes.

The flavours of green tea are generally mild and tend to have fresh and grassy notes, with hints of sweetness.

Please remember to brew this at 80ºC for 2-4 minutes to get the very best out of the leaves. Any higher temperature will burn the leaves making them bitter, as will over-steeping them.

Matcha Powder is a great way to take in the goodness of Green Tea. It is renowned for its numerous health benefits such as metabolism-boosting properties, detoxification, calming effects, mood enhancement, enhanced concentration & lower cholesterol & blood sugar. It is full of antioxidants including the powerful EGCg. It is rich in vitamins, nutrients, zinc, selenium, magnesium, chromium, fibre & chlorophyll. Matcha contains L-theanine, an amino acid known to relax the mind. For this reason, matcha is also known as a mood enhancer.

The health benefits of matcha exceed those of other green teas because you ingest the whole leaf, not just the brewed water.

One glass of matcha is the equivalent of 10 glasses of green tea in terms of nutritional value and antioxidant content.

Have it as a hot drink or in a smoothie or milkshake! You can cook with it - add it to. your recipes for a healthy boost. You can add it to protein balls, cakes, cookies, cheesecake, ice cream, pancakes....the list is endless!

Remember because this is a concentrated powder, I would recommend having this in the morning rather than the evening due to the caffeine.
