Iced Tea: The Refreshing Summer Drink

Iced tea is an incredibly healthy and refreshing option, perfect for the summer months! Iced tea is a delicious and versatile drink that can be enjoyed on its own or used as a mixer for cocktails or added to lemonade. It is the perfect drink for any summer gathering, everyday hydration, and barbeque parties and even great to make into iced lollies!

Iced tea can be made with any type of tea whether it be one of my fruit tisanes or you may prefer to use a traditional black tea (Lovers Leap is perfect) or a green tea ( Lemon and Lime is a great option).

How to make -

  1. Steep the tea leaves/fruit tisane in hot water (follow the instructions on the packet as you would make the tea normally)

  2. If using black tea or my fruit tisanes then steep for 5-10 minutes with 100ºc water - for green tea use 80ºC water for 4 minutes.

  3. Once the tea has steeped, it is important to remove the tea bags or leaves immediately, or the tea will become bitter

  4. Chill the tea and serve it over ice.

  5. This will keep in the fridge for several days.

Alternatively, you can cold brew the fruit tisanes in the fridge overnight but remember to remove the tisane leaving the brewed iced tea.

I also sell pre-prepared iced tea bags ready to pop into a one-litre jug.

Iced tea can be sweetened with sugar, honey, or other sweeteners. It can also be flavoured with lemon, peach, lime, mint, basil, rosemary or other fruits.

Iced tea is a healthy and refreshing drink that is perfect for any occasion. It is a good source of antioxidants and can help to hydrate the body. It is also a low-calorie drink, making it a healthy choice for people who are watching their weight.

Here are some tips for making the perfect iced tea:

* Use fresh, cold water.

* Use good quality tea ..... from Happy Leaf

* Steep the tea for the correct amount of time.

* Remove the tea bags or leaves immediately after steeping.

* Chill the tea quickly.

* Serve the tea over ice.

Here are some variations on the basic iced tea recipe:

  • Sweet tea: Add honey or other sweeteners to taste.

  • Fruit-flavoured iced tea: Add fresh or frozen fruit to the black tea before chilling. Some popular fruits include lemon, lime, peach, strawberry, and raspberry.

  • Herbal iced tea: Use herbal tea instead of black tea. Some popular herbal teas include chamomile, mint, and hibiscus.

  • Iced tea lemonade: Combine iced tea with lemonade for a refreshing and flavourful drink.
